  1. There were once three men named respectively, Paddy the Irishman, Paddy the Englishman, and Paddy the Scotchman.
One night late they were very hungry and they were passing by a house. The door of the house was open and they went in. The man who was eating inside refused to share his meal with them. A fight ensued and resulted in the death of the man.
The trio was tried for murder, found guilty, and sentenced to be hanged. They were each given their choice as where to be hanged. Paddy the Scotchman chose the highest mountain in Scotland. Paddy the Englishman chose the highest tree in England. Paddy the Irishman chose a goose-berry bush. The judge said to him no bush is strong enough to hang you on. Paddy said I am pleased to wait until one does grow.
