    of O'Shaughnessy bought a spade. when buying it he remarked, "This spade will do good work for old Ireland to-day". He kept an eye on Boher and when he got a chance he struck him with the spade and killed him. This occurred outside the village near the creamery about 90 years ago.

  2. Fair of Adare.
    About fifty years ago there was a fair held in Adare on the Fair green. The fair days were 27th March and 3rd October. Many people from the neighbouring towns attended it. It was the custom that every
    householder should produce a pig or a fowl.
