  1. After the Fenian rising a man named Rourke was arrested wounded in his own bed in Clogher. A policeman was send to mind him. Now Rourke had a very pretty sister who began to show great attention to the policeman "mar dead". One night she managed to coax him out of her brothers room and this was no sooner done than out hopped O'Rourke putting some packing in his place. He went out through the window and escaped in a barrel which was put in the middle of a load of hay. It was then that the policeman paid for his laxity.
