    Very Rev. Canon Thomas Tobin was born in Rathdrum, Ballynoe in the year 1881.

    and the College during his long term there. The College was remarkably successful during his term of office as President.
    He encouraged Irish games in the College, and was a warm supporter of the Irish language. He was a fluent Irish speaker himself, and loved everything Irish.
    When he had completed his twenty-sixth year in the College, he was transferred to Glanworth as Parish Priest. During his short time in Glanworth he has built a new curate's house and improved the Church and School.
    He is loved by his parishioners, and is a universal favourite not only in the Diocese of Cloyne but far outside it.
