  1. About the year 1828 there was a great rainfall in this locality.
    A man named Patrick O'Donovan a native of Ballynoe, Tallow, Co- Waterford, he lived in a small house, the house was known to be damp.
    During the night of the rainfall, he went to a neighbour's house.
    He thought that his own house would be taken away by the fierce rainfall.
    He remained in the house for the night, and when he got up in the morning, he went to see was his house still standing.
    When he saw it, there was an enormous flood surrounding the house.
    It was not wet inside, though it was entirely surrounded by water. It looked like an island.
