- The weather is very cold, but dry at present.
There are many signs in the sky to show us what kind of weather we are going to have.
When rain is about, the sky is very dark and cloudy. When a dog is sleepy and hangs round the fire it is a sign of rain. A group of cows or sheep huddled in the corner of a field with their heads to the wind, means rain very soon. Loud quacking by ducks is a good sign of rain, and wet weather is also near when swallows fly low over the fields. When smoke rises slowly and then turns over, and falls towards the ground, it is going to rain. When the barometer is low it is a sign(continues on next page)- Collector
