  1. Knockbrown is the district that I am living in. It is a very big townland. It got its name because of the brown hill. There are eleven families in the townland.
    The names of these families are: Harte, Sullivan, J. Sullivan, F. Sullivan, Crowley, Deasy, Kearney, Collins, Canniffe, and Stanley. It has about fifty of a population. Dennis Crowley is a Yankee because he came from America.
    The dwelling houses are all slated but some farmers have their out-houses thatched.
