  1. Long ago my father told me a story of the inmates of the Mental Hospital.
    One day some of the patients were sent out in the yard to white-wash the walls and the outhouses. A gentleman happened to come in to the yard with a pony and trap, to see a sick friend of his who was in the hospital.
    He had a lovely new trap and a new set of harness. He let the pony and trap in the yard, while he was going in to see his friend.
    while he was inside, the lunatics white-washed pony, trap and harness.
    When the gentleman came out he was very angry when he saw his pony, trap and harness white-washed.
