    the well. The dog was cured and the disease came in the woman's eye's. She then knew she had done wrong to bathe the dog's eyes in the holy well. She went to confession and told the priest what she had done. The penance he gave her was to creep on her knees from her home to the well and back several days and to remain at the well praying for a certain length of time.
