  1. There was an old school in the townland of Derrygrea before the time of the National Schools int he time of the Hedge Schools. This old school was situated just a mile to the east of Drimoleague in the above mentioned townland. It was in a field on the side fo the Dunmanway road just beside where the creamery now stands.
    This was only a little bothán a very small one-roomed house. It remaine dfor many years in the field but it has been thrown out of it in recent years.
