    On the 21st of December
'Tis well I remember the day
Cutting furze I was earning my wage
    I wasn't inclined to delay
Bye and bye I was called to my dinner
And I walked home with courage I vow
But alas on my return I found
My coat was destroyed by a cow

  2. There was a man named Paddy Conway who lived in Coolracum
and who was great for making rhymes or giving rhyming answers to questions.
This is a rhyme he addressed to the Master of the Fox-hunt once when he was looking for compensation for the fowl which had been taken by the fox. I wrote this down as my mother said it for me:-
This is a fine day and a large hunt there is out
And out of the covert the Reynard ye'll rout
