  1. Long ago there live a man in the County Waterford named Crotty the Robber. Before he was captured his wife warned him that a man Norris would betray him. This Norris was one of Crotty's men. The day that he was captured Norris wet Crotty's powder and then informed the police. They surrounded the house and Crotty ran for the powder but it was soaked.
    Crotty was captured but his wife got away and murdered Norris. After that she drowned herself in a pond called Crotty's Lake.
