  1. Once upon a time there lived an outlaw named Crotty. He wanted to cross the Suir but he had no boat. He hired two boatmen for a certain night. But these two said they would inform the police because there was a price on Crotty's head. When the appointed night came Crotty was on one side of the river while the boatmen with the police were on the other. The boat began to come across but Crotty had been warned beforehand about what was going on among the boatmen. When they were in the middle of the river Crotty trained a gun on them and said, "Pull up stream for your lives". When they had rowed for about an he sank the boat and made them swim ashore.
