    case with the coast-guards at Minard and the Government must have found out that they were taking a hand in the game and meant to inquire into their work. One night the entire lot of coast-guards, six in number left the station, took all their equipment and outfit and went on board the smuggler and were not seen anymore and left the station deserted.

    A few years afterwards a fast sailing smuggler ran into Tralee Bay in the dusk of the evening and cast anchor underneath Kill-Gobin near the little village of Camp in Kerry. She was a French boat and was loaded with smuggled goods. A party of Longshore
