   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   Mr Hill a man who lived in Pembroke Street Tralee had a plaster which could cure any kind of pain. It was made up of brown soap and sugar and he put in a herb also which is known only to himself. It both healed and drew out any infectious matter.
   Children long ago who were suffering from sore heads had cabbage leafs put on their heads.
   For rheumatic pains or stiffening of the joints my grandfather used to pick dandelion and nettles - boil them down and drink the juice of the dandelions and eat the young raw nettles and watercress.
   A sore throat was cured by a sack filled with heated salt, bran, or yellow meal.
   An old cure for the whooping cough was to bring in a white gander and let him
