- The windmill at Blennerville is supposed to be the oldest building for miles around the village. When it was first made the owner's wife - Lady Blennerhasset went up on the balcony of it. It was working at the time and the wind blew her in and she was ground to pieces. She is supposed to be seen there up to the present day. There is some queer lettering in some part of it which is supposed to be her name. It is situated where the boats used discharge their cargo before the canal was made.
There was a lady living in Ardfert in ancient times. She was called "The Lady Dowager". She invited a priest to dinner on a Friday and put before him meat and tempted him every way she could. He became so indignant that he cursed her. She died and was buried but the next morning she was found standing against the wall. She was buried again and the same thing occurred.
