    There is only one forge in the Parish of Killorgue in which I live. John McLouglin is the smiths name. His people have have been smiths for years and years. This forge is situated on the side of the main road leading from Drumkeeran to Manorhamilton. It is mid-may between the two towns. It is near a cross-roads and there is a little stream also beside it.
    The forge is roofed with iron and the walls built with stones. There are two half doors on it. There is one fire place in it. The bellows are situated to the left hand side of the fire I did not hear whether they were made locally or not. The smith uses hammers, rasps, and one anvil and other things.
