    Nuala na Mideog is a fairy who has lived in the Parish of Williamstown from the time immemorial. She has a castle under Corralough near Williamstown and another under Loc Buree near Polredmond School. Both castles are connected by an underground passage. She had also a castle in Castletogher but it is now a ruin. She is a very formidable fairy and everybody dreads her. She has a midevy or short sharp knife and it is said she killed many people with it in olden times.

    A very sad incident occurred in Kiltulla long ago. One night a man went to a fair in Juam with some cattle leaving in the castle his wife and child. In his absence the castle was attacked. During the night a man came in dressed in woman's clothes pretending to be a beggar. he asked for a charity and the woman too him to climb on a chair and get some bacon which was hanging to the loft. As he climbed on the chair he whistled. Immediately
