At the fair too some people sell bonhams to those who sell pigs.
Cattle are sold in the similar way except when marking them. Some cut a piece of their hair with a scissors on the back right leg, others dirty them and others mark them with "raddle". Some give luck the same as pigs and others make the bargain free to pocket. Some give the halter to the buyer.
Sometimes when stock is slack the jobbers go round the country buying fat sheep and cattle. - In nineteen twenty one there was an ambush in Carraneeney which is in the Polredmond School district. The I.R.A.'s had prepared for an ambush for the Tans there. On account of news the Tans heard of the ambush and they did not come.
