  1. 8) In the bog known as "Pollglas" or the bog of the yellow hole" there is sopposed to be a big dump of guns & also ammunition which were hidden by the Fenians though no one yet has come across them. One man got a barrell of a gun. It was a muzzle loader.

  2. 10) Once there was a porter spree in Ballinamore. The fee was very heavy and the native lads were unable to enter. The boys were jealous and they proposed to ambush the goods which were going to Ballinamore that night.
    They did ambush the goods and they had a great feast in spite of the others. The pretended they put the goods into a boat and let it sail down the Shiven. The following is a story composed to tell of the incident.

  3. The night was dank cold blew the wind and thickly fell the rain
    A publican in Ballygar an order did obtain
    An order from some swanky boys who was English to the core
    For a porter spree and a grand party to be held near Ballinamore

    The shop-man took his pen in hand to write those items down
