In Brownhall, a great estate near Ballintra, there were a good many trees tossed. Chimney pots were also blown off. The dishes on the dresser could be seen moving when the brattle of thunder came. Some of the lightning came down the chimneys that night.
Aleck Mc Intyre’s door was struck by lightning and broken in. Some of the windows were blown in too and the gun he had hanging up fell down. He also had two or three cattle killed and he himself was nearly killed. He escaped by running out of his house with fear.
