  1. There is one forge in the district. The smith’s name is Kelly. This is a new forge and the smith is a stranger.
    This forge is situated on the road-side between Cavangarden Post Office and the Creamery.
    It is a small stone building with a thatched roof. There is a wide door on it and there is a horse shoe on the door. The bellows are large. They were not made locally.
    The implements he uses are:- a rasp, a hammer, a box of nails and he wears a leather apron.
    He shoes horses and asses.
    He makes harrows, spades, grubbers, tongs, gates, crooks, gates and carts.
