  1. The Patron Saint of my place is Saint Tiernan. He had an abbey at Errew. The ruins of the abbey are still there.
He had a small dish for washing his hands in. After he died the dish was thrown into Lough Conn. After a hundred years a man named Waters got it. He brought it home with him and kept it. One day the Knoxes of Rappa were at Lough Conn fishing and they it of him. He gave it to them and they kept it in the house for many years. It was afterwards sold by the late Mrs Knox to the Royal Academy in Dublin.
There was a blessed wall at Errew where Saint Tiernan prayed. A protestant man disrespected it. There was a small bush beside it. Next day the well and bush had changed to a place called "Cluainin" and the place was afterwards called "Tobar Cluainín"
