  1. In former times people usen't wear any boots until they would be fifteen or twenty years. They would have to go to England first and earn the price[?] of them. At the present day children go bare-footed in Summer and some poor ones such as tinkers go barefooted all the year round.
    It was a custom in olden times to put a coal in the water after washing your feet and not to throw it out until the next day. Boots are made locally by a shoemaker an[?] who lives in Ballindine. He is the
