  1. Long ago candles were made in Dunmacreena. The candles were made from rushes and then steeped in grease.
    Baskets were made in Strype by Johny Heart and in Meelick by Michael Ruane. Horse shoeing, plough-making were made in the forges.
    Dying was done in Kilvine. Long ago there was a well in that well and at night when they would leave cloths in the well they would be dyed the next morning. That was done for a long time until the clothes were taken and it never did it's work after-wards.
    Skibs were made in Meelick, Strype and Carrinlough.
