  1. There are two forges in the district. Mr Raftery and Mr. O Connor that own them. One of the forges is situated in "craoibh íseil" and the other in Clover.
    They are roofed with sheet iron. In olden times they were roofed with scraws, scraw, and corrugated iron.
    The doors of the forges are of a special kind they are very high and about the width of two carts. The smith uses a sledge a hammer an anvil, a file, a rasp and a knife.
    The blacksmith placed bars of iron in his fire and jamb them to a white heat with his
