    Pishogues were practiced in olden times. In a certain house butter could not be made and when they did try blood appeared on the churns. They got a mass offfered in the house. The priest told them to put the plough share in the fire and that the person who was making the Pishogues would come in for it.
    During the mass their next door neighbour came in for the plough share. After that they could make the butter.

    In the olden days May Eve was the chief time for making Píseogs. On May morning people used often find other people milking their cows in the fields or in the houses. Butter used also be found plastered to the bay shed or on the walls of the cow house. Then the people of the house could not make the butter.
    Eggs were also found in the ridges of potatoes, also duck eggs and hen eggs in the wynds of hay. Then the crops would not grow so well while
