    This song "The Sweet River Deel" is composed about the castle, abbey, the Deel, and places on its banks. Patsy Mc Carthy who is mentioned in it is an old fisherman in William St. Clareen is beside the abbey on the right bank of the river. The flat field of Cussen's is owned by Mr. Edward Cussen, Abbey Lodge. "The part of the river that flows through Hunt's land" - is owned by Mr. R. Hunt and extends from the Bridge for about ¾ mile up the river, and is noted for its fishing.
