  1. Long ago there were no motor-cars no trains or no aeroplanes. The people did not go the towns or citys so often, they made their own bread and they spun the wool into tread and made their own clothes. But they had to go the the fairs and to Mass and they often walked eight or ten miles to the fairs and back again and they were not one bit tired after their journey.
