- At certain intervals during the year the wild duck and the wild goose are seen but they do not stay for any length of time in the district.
I have noticed each different type of bird builds a different type of nest in a different place to any other bird. Taking first the swallows they build their nests under the eaves of houses. They never build them in a lonely place near some dwelling.
The cuckoo of course merely lays its eggs in another bird's nest while the corncrake lays its eggs in what could hardly be called a nest,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
