  2. In this district the swallow is to be seen in fine weather and they build their nests of clay under the eve of a house. When the weather begins to get cold the swallow flies away to Africa. When the swallows are flying low in the air it is the sign of cold weather. The cuckoo lay four eggs of a dark brown colour she do not build her own nest she goes to another birds nest and stays there for about a week until she has her eggs hatched and after that she flies away to other countries[?]

  3. A cure for a sty in our eye is to make the sign of the cross three times with a married ring. It is said to rub a snail to a wart and stick him on a black thron, and he would be withered. The wart would be withered. There is a flower called the Blessed Virgin thistle and it has spotted leaves and to boil the leaves and drink the water
