  2. A man named Linehan of Kanturk was a teacher in the house of Thomas Murphy, Bluepool Kanturk. He held a night school fifty years ago. They had no pens or pencils in the school, but each boy had a slate. Long forms for sitting on they had.
    A man named McCarthy of Greenane, Kanturk taught in his own house, Grammar, Geography and Arithmetic were taught there. A man named MacAuliffe came home from America to be taught.
