  1. My father told me about the treasure that he found in Rathmaher about three miles east of Kanturk.
About thirty years ago he dug up a bucket of silver in Rathmaher orchard. When he brought it home he was looking at it thinking it was bad. After a while he showed it to the man that was living next door. While they were looking at it, it went in dust and was seen no more.
He supposed it was hidden there after the battle at Knockmanuss in the year 1647.
