It is an old saying that it is March until the 12th of April, and it is called "Old March."
- On certain days of the week people would not like to start certain work.
A boy or girl would not go out working with a farmer on Monday; and a contractor would not start building a house on Monday; because it is thought unlucky to start on that day.
