Once upon a time there was a pot of gold hidden under a rock on Liscarney hill. On two or three occasions a man from Partry came in search of it. After a long search he found the rock under which it was hidden. Then he set to work digging for it. He dug on for three days but on the third day he came to solid rock and he gave up the search as useless. It is said to be hidden there still for anyone who would have the luck of finding it.
