  1. There is a well in Pat Malley's field in Carrareeach. Some people used to dirty it and then it would spring up in another place. There was a white-thorn bush growing beside that well and some people made up their minds to cut it down but they got afraid, because a little woman used to be seen there often.
    Anyhow one day a man that was about there said he would cut it because he was not afraid of any fairies. He cut it and of course he thought nothing would happen anything belonging to him When he cut it he sowed it around his house. When he went to the barn in the evening to let out the cow to a drink she was dead.
