  1. There was a man out one night and as he was going along in a field he saw a little man with a red jacket. He had a candle mending his shoes. He went up and caught him and he told him that he would kill him if he would not tell where he had his pot of gold hid. The little fairy said he would. He told him to come to a certain place in the field. As they were going through the field the fairy told him that there was a big black dog behind him. The man looked behind him and when he looked again the fairy was gone.
