  1. I often heard my Granny tell a story, about a young man whom she knew, He was very fond of going to the neighbour houses on a visit during the long winter nights. One night he was visiting in an neighbours house, and he did not leave for home till about 11 oclock at night. At a certain place on his way home he saw something white, close to the hedge, and as he came closer to it he became more afraid, and began to walk faster and faster, and by the time he was opposite the white form he was running. He ran faster and faster, and tripped over something and fell. "Oh My! He esclaimed, it will have me this time, and he scrambled quickly to his feet, and ran on, looking back to see where the ghost was now. It had got nearer to him on account of the fall. When he arrived home he was panting and very excited and told his friends of his escciting adventure with the ghost, and it cured him of travelling late at night.
