   Weather Lore
   When the wind is in the east, it is not good for man or beast.
   If the wind blows from the north on november day, the winter will be mild, so old folks say.
   The south wind brings most rain
   When the swallow flies high, fine weather is nigh, when the swallow flies low the cold wind doth blow.
   The halo round the moon is a sign of rain.
   When the cat sits with his back to the fire, rain is at hand.
   The red “soldiers” on the kettle, is also a sign of rain.
   When wild geese fly inland a storm is at hand.
   The rainbow in the morning is the shepherd’s warning
   The rainbow at night is the shepherd’s delight
   When the mountain is near, rain is expected.
   Red clouds in the west at sunset, when they have a hint of purple, foretell fine weather.
   A yellow sunset foretells rain.
   If a cat is seen sitting at the fire washing his face it foretells bad weather.
   The swine get very restless when rain is coming, and flies also disturb cattle. Boys also get uneasy.
   When the smoke from the chimney ascends up straight, it is a sign of fine weather, when it doesn’t it is a sign of rain.
   When a blue blaze is seen in the fire it foretells rain.
   If crows are seen lodged in a field it foretells a storm.
   A storm doesn't go beyond sunday, or a [?] beyond wednesday.
