About one hundred yards from "Rahard Fort" is a raised mound about three feet high in the shape of a grave with a stone cross. Long ago there was a king buried there. Another story told about this fort. Long ago it was the ("Good Peoples") feasting place and all the fairies from the other three forts could be seen going to the feast some in coaches, carriages and on horse back and the mirth and laughter and music could be heard coming out of the fort. In the adjoining field there still remains the stones of a chapel which was destroyed in the Penal Days. About a mile from here in Lower Ballinlough is an Altar made of stone and there are many crosses around it. This was used as an Altar also in the Penal Days.
