   In Biddy Earley's time there was a man living in a townland near Lissycasey. He was a well to do farmer and had a great number of cows. He used to make a good deal of butter every week. One May Eve he went churning and he was churning for hours and hours but he did not succeed he making any butter and he ceased churning Every week from May Eve to July he failed to make butter. He suspected there was some person doing him evil. So he decided in going to Biddy Earley to consult her. He went to Biddy, and as he was entering her house she met him at the door and before he could say one word she said, "I know what brought you here, and the person that is taking the butter from you is supposed to be a dear friend of yours, but behind your back he is your enemy, and at present he has a calf sick and the calf will die in two day's time." She told him also to watch where his neighbour will bury the calf and she told him also that he will bury the calf between the hours of twelve and one o'clock at night. The man returned home and watched as Biddy told
