The butter began to melt with the heat and she dipped it into the mes[?] well to keep it from melting. That evening when she was coming back again the well was at the other side of the road.

  2. An old story is told about St Bernard's well which is in Ballyvarane. One day a woman went to get a bucket of water. As she could get no water near her she went to this well. When she put the water in the kettle to boil she had the water on the fire for two hours and the water never got hot.
