The soldiers in Clonmel brought bloodhounds and tried to find the body about a week afterwards but did not succeed.
The remains were afterwards found by some workmen under a ciseac in place mentioned.
From that day to this the tree has been called "Crann Harry".
When they were removing the body they passed by men who were building a mud house for Ryan Rues and these men and their descendants tell the story to this day.
Up to twenty years ago, three fourths of the houses were made of mud walls and were thatched with wheaten straw, the chimneys being made of wattles covered with mud. Earthen floors were in all the apartments and these were mended frequently with yellow mud mixed with water.
