When people go to the fair of Drumcollogher they can go in free without any money. When any animal is sold the man that the beast is bought from gives money to the buyer for luck. If two persons want to show agreement one man hits the other mans hand, and when there is a little difference between them the say "Split the difference". As soon as any animal is sold it is marked sometimes with red stuff on the flank, and other times with tar so as to distinguish them from other cattle.
