    There is only one very old road in this district, and it is known as the "cos", and it is so called because it was made in the shape of a foot. It is not used now, but some children go home from school that way for a short cut.
    It is supposed to be made by a man named Joh McEnery, who was a very rich man, as a short cut to Gurteen, because he had cattle there. But since he died it was
