    The smiths shoe horses and asses. Cattle are never shod here, and the untrained horses and asses are only shod when put to work under a cart.
    The smiths make horse and ass shoes. They fix handles into spades. They bind with iron bands, pots, and kettles that leak. They make handles to swing motor cars and iron gates, large and small. The price required for a home-made gate is beyond the means of most people. It is much cheaper to buy them from the factories. Sometimes gates are made from old wheel-bands and then the smith can do the work cheaply, if the bands are supplied by the farmer who requires the gate.
    The ironing of wheels is always done in the open, near the stream on a circular flag or cement shaped wheel. There is a hole in the
