  1. A Famous Smith
Many years ago there lived in Glin a famous smith named Michael Mullane.
He was very diligent in his work and always tried to display it with the utmost skill.
His anvil rang from morning to night and made a sweet melody.
Some of the principal works he made are to be seen in the Glin Church in the Communion Rails. The ornaments on the entrance door are also from his hands.
Another souvenir which is treasured by my mother is a lock for a barn door.
He did everything very neatly and he was respected by all.
