“Geara” cures dogs of worms
Dandelion, when boiled in water, is thrown away, and the liquid used a cure for cough.
A root named “Cumphrey” grows like a parsnip. It is dug, scraped, boiled and placed between two cloths to cure a sprain.
A herb named Cat’s Mick is a cure for “chin-cough”
The dock leaf was used by the old people for crusted lips
Nettles were used for blistering and for rheumatism.
“Garlick” is a cure for ruka paste.
There is a sea weed called “ feamanach na gclog” which when boiled, produces oil. This oil is great for animals with swollen feet.
This is a cure for “white mouth” in children. Hold a gander to the child's mouth and let him blow his breath nine times into it.
