    journey men stayed at the house in which they worked and the master went home. James Buckley wanted to play a joke on John Herlihy and he asked him what way would he make the suit and John answering said. "Don't make it too long don't make it too short don't make it too tight don't make it loose and if you have trade James don't spare it. The master got tea and the journey men got potatoes. The master tailor in some cases ate with the journey men and in other houses they were divided. A tailor-made suit cost nine shillings, a single tweed pants cost two shillings and a corduroy cost one and six pence (1s and 6d.)
