O! once proud Carrigcastle
O! what a saddening sight
To look upon your hoary walls
And gaze at you to-night
And see the ivy growing wild
Upon your shattered walls
And briar and nettle reign supreme
Within your kingly halls.

Your stately halls in ruin
No more your walls will echo
To the harp melodious tune
No more upon your grassy lawn(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
